Looking for those who know how to arrive with a vibe to join us for our first psychotherapy support group targeting Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) aka winter blues or seasonal depression. This group is also suitable to those with a diagnosis of depression of any kind. Each 2-hour meetup will feature warm weather fun (indoors), a discussion followed by helpful skills to combat depression and low mood, competitive themed activities, music, an easy to learn mini line dance, and food! Come prepared to “warm-up” as we travel to Hawaii during our first meet up and to Jamaica during our final meetup before we welcome Spring!
Cost: $45 per person + credit card fee (HSA/FSA accepted w/out a credit card fee. Check w/carrier for coverage for group therapy CPT code 90853.)
Insurance Accepted: Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar, and Blue Cross & Blue Shield accepted. Check with insurance carrier for benefits. COPAYS apply. Those having not yet met your deductible for the year will be charged $45 plus credit card fee and provided with an invoice and “superbill” for any potential insurance deductible credit or reimbursement. We do NOT interact with insurance companies or their representatives on behalf of the patient/participant.
Age Restriction: 21 & Up
Availability: Open to first 20 people who register. 2-3 staff members/assistants present per event for groups of 15 or more. Group must have minimum of 6 participants.
Dietary Restriction: The menu includes Hawaiian-themed cuisine such as Hawaiian chicken w/ rice (vegan option of main dish will be available at each meet-up), Hawaiian chips and dip, a charcuterie board of meats, cheeses, crackers, fruits, veggies, and chocolates (may contain nuts), pineapple upside down cake, and mocktails (Blue Hawaiian/Tropical Island Punch).

Special Feature:
1. Bring a business card and drop it in the bucket and if selected, you’ll have 2 minutes to shoot your shot and share with the group (1 participant will be selected per meeting. No active sells/collection of money but may direct to a website or social media).
2. Sign-up to setup an unmanned table of goods (must create QR code/have locked cash box with insert). Only available to first 2 requests per event. The same business will not be featured for both events unless no new business asks to be displayed.
Confidentiality: Being in an environment where open sharing takes place can be stressful and may feel unsafe. In order for all members to feel safe in sharing their experiences, you are making a commitment to not discuss anything, including other’s reactions, with anyone outside of the group. It is healing for you to discuss your emotions and reactions regarding the group process inside and outside of the group, but not about others. What others say in group needs to stay in group. We will be on a “first name basis only” in group to help promote confidentiality. Our legal obligation when it comes to breaking confidentiality is as follows: a) if you sign a release of information for exchange of information with a third party; b) if there is a suspicion of child or elder abuse; c) if you threaten serious harm to yourself or someone else (this may be reported to the police or appropriate authorities); d) if a subpoena is presented for legal proceedings.
